Farmers & Landowners

The Natural Capital Question?

Is it right for you?

Understanding the potential value opportunities of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Nutrient Neutrality on your land.

Biodiversity Net Gain, and in certain areas Nutrient Neutrality, can represent compelling opportunities for landowners with disused or unproductive land. However, it is important to recognise that it may not be suitable for everyone.

Before making a decision, it’s crucial to fully understand the process involved and carefully evaluate the potential benefits, obligations, and alternative revenue streams that may be available.

Select and Survey

Whether you’re exploring your options or confident this is the right approach, the first step is to identify the area and carry out a baseline survey with one of our trusted ecologists. This process provides a clear and accurate understanding of the potential habitat uplift available to you

You have completed your survey and are happy to proceed. Now comes the heavy lifting. Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs) and S106 are how you secure and register your uplift. Why BioMark?

BioMark are a little different to many other sellers. We are landowners ourselves.

Having been at the forefront of Nutrient Neutrality and Biodiversity Net Gain, we have seen the development of these markets first hand through their ups and downs. Having successfully enabled multiple schemes on our own land, we also now advise landowners across the country on the process, costs, and timescales involved. If you decide it is right for you, our ‘Survey to Sale’ process takes you the rest of the way.

You retain your land and control. We don’t lease it or pay you a cut. Instead, we use our expertise to guide you from an unsurveyed site to the successful registration and sale of your units. Our team handles all the legal, environmental, and contractual details with your approval, ensuring you benefit from both your land and a steady income.
